New Faces, New Places



Everett Library welcomes new students and old friends with a host of improvements to help you through the coming academic year. First, let’s start with our newly improved Mezzanine Area, with large open spaces and additional seating for group projects. In our virtual space, we have added two new databases: American History and Life and SportDiscus for sports and sports medicine . We have a new library catalog to help you search for material in the library, manage your account, and tag those items you think might be useful to others. Built in 1960, the Everett Library at Queens University of Charlotte is a beautiful building with an inviting courtyard area in front and multiple areas for reading, studying and collaborating inside. “Everett Library is named in honor of Herschel H. and Cornelia Nesbit Everett. Mr. Everett was a dynamic leader and philanthropist, both in Charlotte and on the Queens University of Charlotte Campus.  He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Queens from 1952-1967 and Acting President of the College in 1953-1954” (“,” 2012) .Whenever I am early for my evening graduate classes, I go to the library to do some research or review in preparation for class. While the library features several quiet areas and has numerous spaces where I can hangout, I prefer to go downstairs to a dedicated “Quiet Zone” where I can normally find a table and enjoy the quiet space.
